Ted's career as a software expert was primarily in business. From 1995 to 2007, he was General Manager and Chief Technology Officer for Radio Computing Services. Prior to RCS, from 1986-1994, Ted was Managing Director of the Alexander Consulting Group, Inc., an international management consulting firm, and from 1980-1985 Senior Vice President and a member of the Board of Anistics, Inc.

His career started at RCA and NBC, where he had several management positions. In his first job at RCS Labs in Princeton, he was awarded the RCA Laboratories Outstanding Achievement Award. Moving to GE's subsidiary NBC, where he was the youngest vice president at the time, Ted was responsible for all software development. He also taught computer science and telecommunications at Baruch College in New York City.

When Ted "retired" in 2007, he was not ready to be fully retired, so he began his "encore career" as Dean of Technology at Westchester Community College until his final retirement in 2015.

Ted was involved with many professional associations, and has published articles and spoken on a range of subjects from information technology to managing organizational change.

Ted has a Bachelor of Science degree from MIT and a MA and PhD from Princeton University. He lived in Bedford NY with his wife Dr. Nancy Nygreen until 2024 when they moved to Jackson, New Hampshire. They have 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren.
